"The Basic Skills Quality Mark has helped our school focus on the key elements of learning, encouraging us to implement new initiatives that have a 'real' impact on improving pupil standards and raising achievement. A creative curriculum, that promotes enjoyment, personalisation and success in purposeful contexts is promoted and encouraged."

Jon Eden Headteacher Bramford CEVC Primary School

The Basic Skills quality mark is a national quality assurance framework for basic skills (literacy and numeracy) for all pupils in a school with a particular focus on those pupils who underachieve. The framework complements and supports existing strategies and frameworks.

Suffolk LA has been awarded 'partnership status' with the Alliance for Life Long Learning which allows us to assess and recommend primary and secondary schools for the Quality Mark Award. The award is for three years and is monitored annually by the LA.
