The most exciting phrase to hear in Science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not 'Eureka!' but 'That's funny...' Isaac Asimov

The Science faculty is composed of three departments, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Students in Key Stage Three receive three lessons of Science a week covering all three science disciplines. The 'Exploring Science' curriculum is used to equip students with the necessary skills to succeed at keay stage 3 and beyond.

All students study all three Science disciplines, following the Edexcel courses at GCSE level. Some pupils will achieve a Core and Additional Science GCSE qualifications, whist others may study a triple GCSE course gaining seperate qualifications in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Some pupils will follow the Edexcel BTEC First in Applied Science, and will gain the equivalent of two GCSE Science qualifications.

An additional GCSE in Astronomy (Edexcel) is also offered as a weekly after school, which is led by Mrs Sinnott.

The Science department offers three A-Levels courses; Chemistry (Edexcel), Biology (AQA), and Physics (AQA).
