At Blacklands we aim to create a lively, happy atmosphere in which children can learn and develop. We believe that all children have the right to feel safe and secure in school and know who to turn to if they need support. We want children to develop lively, enquiring minds and to encourage this we have developed a creative, hands-on, skills-based curriculum that fosters the belief that children learn by “doing.” We encourage children to respect the point of view of others and celebrate diversity. We believe that it is important from a young age that children take responsibility for their own actions. The partnership that we have with parents is fundamental to the school’s success. It is only by working together that the children will achieve to the best of their ability.
Blacklands’ vision is encapsulated in the statement:
Caring Happy Individuals Learning and Developing together.
