Global Learning

There are many reasons to encourage a global dimension in your school and many resources available on the internet to support you in your work.

Here we have a range of documents that we think are key to understanding why you should embrace Global Learning and some links that will give you more information and tools to support the implementation of this broad and vital subject matter.

In Brighton & Hove we have some excellent resources and places to go for support, not least a number of schools who have already successfully embedded the Global Dimension in their curriculum and daily lives.

We shall also bring you some up to date information about how to get involved in international linking online, via traditional communication methods and face to face.  See the pages in International Linking for more information.

The Brighton & Hove City Council International Team and the Brighton Peace and Environment Centre (BPEC) are working together to bring this information together in one place.  We shall endeavour to keep the pages up to date with new funding information and training opportunities as they occur through the year.

Please do get in touch if you would like us to visit your school to have a chat about where you’re at and you’d like your school to be.

Join us on The Level!

A box of curriculum-linked learning and education resources is now available for schools to use onsite at The Level, to help them explore many different aspects of this award-winning park and use it as an inspiring outdoor classroom.

Developed in conjunction with Brighton Peace and Environment Centre by the council's Parks Projects team, which spearheaded the park's restoration, the box is free to use onsite.

The resources are targeted at KS2 and KS3.

The Level welcomes school visits to the park, but please give plenty of notice if you wish to borrow the Resource Box, and (to avoid disappointment!) wait for confirmation it is available for you before bringing school groups on site.

Bookings can be made at

We encourage schools to treat the box as a flexible, developing resource, and to share materials and other resources, as well as suggesting other items that could be added over time by the Parks team when funding is available.
