New Arrival Assessment

The materials contained in the EMA files 'Admissions and Assessment guidelines (Primary or Secondary)', have been prepared for Portsmouth schools to accompany the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) New Arrivals Excellence Programme (NAEP) Guidance, published in October 2007.

Together, these resources will enable school staff to assess, support and monitor the progress of their pupils who are new arrivals to the UK with English as an Additional Language.

New Arrival Support

EMA has recently produced guidance and resources to support both Primary and Secondary schools' work with New Arrivals, those pupils new to the country, who are at the earliest stages of acquiring English.  This is designed to compliment the Admissions and Assessment guidelines.
