PARTNERSHIP LETTER
20 November 2009
Dear Parent/Carer(s),
I am pleased to announce a new partnership between ourselves and The Rochester Grammar School (RGS). RGS is an “Outstanding” School which has been nationally recognised as providing an excellent standard of education for many years. Staff and Governors at St John Fisher School are constantly striving to provide the best possible education for all our students and this new arrangement will be a significant step forward in improving provision within our school. The Local Authority is very keen to support partnership arrangements such as ours.
In order to launch successful partnership working, I have agreed with Mrs Denise Shepherd, the Headteacher at RGS, that we need a full training and development day for staff. I have arranged for this to take place on Friday 4th December. This will mean cancelling the proposed staff training day scheduled for 15th January 2010, which will now be a normal school day for pupils. I realise that this may be an inconvenience for some parents/carers, but I am sure that you will see that the potential benefit to all students at our school is enormous.
Both myself and Mrs Shepherd see this as a long term partnership arrangement in order for St John Fisher School to gain recognition as an outstanding school. I have every confidence that this will lead to success for all our students and that I can count on your full support as an important member of our community.
Yours sincerely,
Mr D. T. Kelly
