UniServity cLc learning platform: Good Practice Examples
This month we’re bursting at the seams with brilliant examples of innovation, creativity and high-impact-upon-learning examples, all stemming out of school’s UniServity learning platforms...
Featured this month:
*Becta’s Latest Learning Platform film (10mins) showcases Grays School in East Sussex, and their journey through planning, choosing, implementing, reviewing and improving their learning platform. A phenomenal film which encapsulates everything you need to know in one easy watch. Highly recommended watch: http://www.nextgenerationlearning.org.uk/showandtell for all school age ranges and contexts.
*Blackburn with Darwen multi-school collaboration & elections for Youth Parliament: http://is.gd/aNzF2
*Tideway Secondary School, East Sussex - Digital Democracy: http://www.tidewayschool.org/
*Murdishaw West Primary, Halton, bring their Chick WebCam into their learning platform to engage children in blogging what’s happening! http://is.gd/aNqK5

For a “live-update” with all of these ideas and examples, visit http://is.gd/aNBi9 where you can also find Articles, Case Studies, School Improvement Themed Suggestions, Contact Details of Innovative Schools, and Suggestions for all kinds of Teaching & Learning ideas using your learning platform. You can also follow the updates of these via http://twitter.com/FionaAS
Two very useful new resources (wikis) are also available on our UniServity Innovative Teacher Network at http://is.gd/aNBi9
*Developing Quality Learning (shows you how to use each cLc tool in steadily increasing ways through Bloom’s Taxonomy, developing Higher Order Thinking Skills)
*Creating Effective Learning (scaffolding the planning of learning improvement steadily, supporting teacher confidence)
As you will be aware, these ideas and examples are a direct result of teachers being willing to share their experiences – therefore I strongly encourage YOU to join the community of sharing practitioners by sharing something that you are using your learning platform for also. I’m always delighted to hear from those who can spare just 5 minutes to send a link and short explanation of the activity or project. If you’re willing to write up an article or case study even better, but the important bit is to SHARE, so this need not be time consuming!!
(If you think that one of your colleagues would also benefit from receiving this list, please ask them to send an email with the subject line BEST PRACTICE SUBSCRIBE to Fiona.AubreySmith@UniServity.Com )
(A note for LOCAL AUTHORITY ADVISORS receiving this email: I’ve been asked to add a number of LA-wide distribution lists to this email – if you would like yours added please could you let me know to include it).
Best wishes, Fiona
