Life Events
Throughout our lives we will experience many different things, both good and bad. Certain situations are unique or we may not have had previous experience of them and won't know what to do. How we deal with them will not only impact on our physical and emotional health but also that of our families.
Good support networks, emotional literacy and a healthy lifestyle will enable people to process the range of emotions and difficulties encountered during these times.
Adults
To measure stress according to the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale, the number of "Life Change Units" that apply to events in the past year of an individual's life are added and the final score will give a rough estimate of how stress affects health.
