School Site

The School site must be a safe place for your children, Although, thankfully there have been very few times when the children have been unsafe in School we must learn from those events. Keeping the site secure for your children will cause inconvenience for you and means that access in and around the School must be limited.

What time may my child come to School?

School day for children begins at 8.50 a.m. Children may be on the school site at 8.30 at the earliest unless they are attending Breakfast Club. Patents/carers must wait with their children in all classes from Nursery to Year 4. There are 3 School gates from Surrey Road from Northumberland Avenue Scholars' Place There gates will be open at 8.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. On the ground floor each class has an entrance to its cloakroom. Classes upstairs use the side entrance by the staircase. The classroom doors will be locked at 9.00 a.m. All playground and Surrey Road gates are locked at 9.15 a.m. The only access to the School site after 9.00 a.m. is from Northumberland Avenue. The only access to the School building is through the main entrance.

When can I speak to the office staff?

A good time is before or after you bring or collect your child from class. You can get to the office from the main entrance. Please do not go through the School to get to the office because you will find it difficult to get to the entrance area.

What do I do if we arrive late?

If you arrive after the start of the day please take your child to the main entrance where your child will be registered.

My child is in Nursery and I have to bring and collect at different times.

After 9.00 a.m. the only access to the School is from Northumberland Avenue. Parents collecting children from morning nursery and bringing to afternoon nursery can only use the gate on Northumberland Avenue. We regret the inconvenience this may cause families living closer to the other gate but the children's safety comes first. The other School gate must be kept locked during the School day.

I need to collect/return my child from an appointment - where do I go?

Please come into the School from Northumberland Avenue to the main office at the front entrance. Office staff will help you.
