ENGLISH MARTYRS CELEBRATION DAY: We hope and pray for a few hours dry weather next Friday, May 2nd, when we will anticipate the feast day of English Martyrs (Sunday 4th May). We intend to have a short prayer service in church at 11.15 a.m. followed by a picnic for our children with their parents, grandparents and parishioners on the school field.
It might be worth bringing a sweater and raincoat! More seriously if the weather is poor we will invite you to eat with us inside using the hall and classrooms. . not as much fun though, methinks.
There will be no cooked school meals that day and so dinner money this week is £3.60. A packed lunch will be provided for children who have free meals.
Once the children have returned to class we will organise ourselves for a staff v parents netball match at about 1.15 p.m.. The school netball team will play too and probably show up all of us grown ups!
Parents may take their children home early after the match.
PTA: We are grateful to the PTA for continuing support. Any donations of home made scones/cakes for the PTA refreshment stall will be very much appreciated.
The whole community is invited to 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday morning, May 4th and we hope many of our children will be involved in several ways. Please try to join us. The Parish Centre will be open after Mass.
Enjoy the celebrations and enjoy the Bank Holiday.
May God bless us all,
Yours sincerely,
Bernard Martin Headteacher
