This course builds on the ICT knowledge & skills you have acquired whilst studying ICT in KS4 & at AS level. It also assumes you are proficient at using ICT to combine & present information. You must be wholly capable of independent research & learning & should be able to use the Internet efficiently.
WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
This course enables you to apply your knowledge & understanding of ICT to develop planning, research, evaluation & problem-solving skills.
You will develop an understanding of the impact of information systems on organisations, personnel, policies and practices, acquire project management skills & an understanding of the need to work co-operatively with others.

WHAT IS THE COURSE CONTENT AND HOW IS IT ASSESSED?
There are three compulsory units that you need to complete at A2 level:
- Unit 9 – Working to a Brief
- Assessment: External - 90 min examination.
- Unit 11 – Interactive Multimedia Products
- Assessment: Internal - portfolio production.
- Unit 14 – Developing & Creating Websites
- Assessment: Internal - portfolio production.

WHAT COULD I GO ON TO DO AT THE END OF MY COURSE?
You could go to any university & read for a degree in computing, ICT or related fields. The emphasis on project work & problem-solving solutions will provide you with useful skills for a wide range of ICT careers & the software techniques that you will have developed will be relevant in most careers in the twenty-first century workplace.
