ACTIVITY UPDATE SHEET JANUARY 2012
Friday 27th January – We are holding a Benefits advice clinic at the Children’s Centre with Job Centre Staff here to advise. The clinic runs from 10.00am until 11.30am and is appointment only. If you have any questions concerns or are just not sure you are getting what you should ring 01634 338205 and make an appointment.
Saturday 28th January – Dad and Me see’s us celebrating the Chinese New Year, making kites and having lots of messy fun. Mums feel free to send your pre- school children and their brothers and sisters along with Dad to the centre between 10.00am and 12.00 mid day. A chance for dads to enjoy playtime while mum’s have a well deserved break !!!!!
Saturday 28th January – Calling all parents – we are holding a Paediatric First Aid information Session from 10.00am until 1.00pm at the centre. During the session we will be covering Resuscitation, Choking, Febrile Convulsions and all other Child related concerns. Please ring 01634 338205 for more information or to book your place.
Saturday 28th January – Are you 32 weeks pregnant? Then join us today for our Bump2Baby Education session with Kim Tyler our midwife for this session. The session runs from 9.30am until 1.00pm, refreshments will be provided. This session covers, hopes and fears, the labour journey, options and choices and much more. Please call the centre to book your place on 01634 338205.
Wednesday 1st February – Keeping up with the Children Literacy Course for Foundation Stage and Key Stage One. This is a 15 week course, that allows you to understand what your children are learning and how best to support them. It is facilitated by Adult Education and allows you to move onto further courses if you are interested. The sessions run at Wainscott Primary School from 9.15am until 11.15am , please call 01634 338205 for more information or to book your place.
Parents Forum – This meeting is set up and run by parents who represent the groups and sessions we run both in and out of the Children’s Centre. We meet 3 times a year and look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas that have been shared by our session members. This is the parents opportunity to inform us of service need, session quality and what changes are required to ensure everyone’s needs are met. As a centre we really value our parents input into how we run and always look forward to new members joining us.
Our next parents forum meeting is on Tuesday 14th February at Temple Mill Children’s Centre from 10.00am until 11.00am. We would love to hear from as many parents as possible, please contact the centre if you would be interested in coming along to share your views. There will be a play session available for your children during this session.
