Parents of Year 6 pupils receive, through their children’s primary school, information about the schools available for their children at secondary age.

Open Mornings. Tours of the school led by the Headteacher, senior staff and pupils will take place on a weekly basis from 9.15am on the mornings of 12th September, 19th September, 26th September, 3rd October and 10th October. Tours will leave from the main school hall and will be escorted by Year 9 pupils.

Introduction Evening. There will be a formal presentation to parents of prospective pupils by the Headteacher and senior staff. There will be specific presentations on the curriculum, the pastoral system, learning and teaching and the school's specialism.

Open Evening. Parents and prospective pupils in Year 6 are invited to tour the school and meet teaching staff. There will be a range of interactive activities for the students during the evening. Tours of the school will depart from the hall.
At 7.45pm there will be a talk by the Headteacher in the hall.

Open Morning. Parents are invited to tour the school during the working day, escorted by Year 10 pupils who will act as guides. Tours will depart from the hall.

The Director informs parents the school to which their children have been allocated. Parents may appeal against this decision if they wish.

Parents will receive a pro-forma from the school asking for details about their child. They are asked to return these before the meeting on 12th July.

Year 6 Induction Day. Pupils who will be transferring to Edgbarrow spend the day in school. They work a typical day and learn about the school. Please come to the hall at the start of the day.Pupils should bring their normal school equipment, wear their present school uniform and bring trainers to change into. They may bring a packed lunch or buy a lunch and a drink here for approximately £3.00.

Year 6 Welcome Evening. Parents and pupils are invited to school to meet their Head of Year, Form Teachers and other members of their form. This will help to prepare pupils for their first day in September. Senior staff will be available to answer parents questions. There will be an opportunity for pupils to spend some time in form rooms with their form tutor. Pupils should bring pens for this activity.
