Starting at a new school or moving away from your current school can be a stressful time for students of all ages and their parents.
The role of a Mobility Coordinator is to look after students and their families on arrival at school, and also when leaving to help all staff make the transition as seamless as possible.
If you are being posted to RAF Akrotiri, and your child(ren) needs a place at Akrotiri School, you can email the school or phone Mrs Eardley in the school office with the following information:
- Posting date
- Name(s) of child(ren)
- Date(s) of birth
- Current school
- Additional support requirements*
We now have an online form to collect this information. CLICK HERE
The email address is: gill.eardley@sceschools.com
The school phone number is: 00357 2527 6167
I am sure that the information available in our website will help you to understand a little more about Akrotiri School before your arrival.
You and your family can also spend some time viewing the Akrotiri Station web site. Visit http://www.mod.uk/ and type ‘RAF Akrotiri’ into the search box, and then click on the top link. Akrotiri HIVE can be contacted for local information sheets if required at akrotirihive@armymail.mod.uk and there is also a ‘Mobility Toolkit’ website that contains information to assist with school transitions http://www.serviceschoolsmobilitytoolkit.com/
I look forward to meeting you and showing you around Akrotiri School.
* If your child has special needs, then before accepting your posting, they need to be registered with the MOD’s Children’s Education Advisory Service, CEAS, formerly known as SCE UK, based at RAF Upavon. Please contact them on email address enquiries@ceas.detsa.co.uk or phone them on 0044-1980-618244. Alternatively you should telephone the headquarters of Service Children’s Education based in Germany and speak to our Principal Educational Psychologist on 0049-2161-908-2225, or email them at guidance1@bfgnet.de. They will then decide if your child’s special needs can be met overseas. (Please also let us know so that we can plan extra support in advance).
