This is not just a practical course you will have to do a considerable amount of theory. This course will suit students who enjoy putting together coursework portfolios, rather than exams. This requires students to have regular attendance and high self motivation.
This is a level 2 course taken over one year and consists of three units in total.
It provides preparation for employment or further studying in the vocational area. The course is the equivalent of two GCSEs A*-C.

BTech first certificate in Sports Studies is 100% coursework based on a Pass, Merit and Distinction criteria.

Possible Progression Routes:
This short course offers you a specialist qualification for working in areas of sport. It could lead onto other vocational qualifications such as a BTEC National Award, Certificate or Diploma in Sport or an NVQ as part of an Apprenticeship programme relating to Sport Management, Instructing Fitness and Exercise or Leisure Management.
The course also provides you with the basic knowledge, understanding and skills that many employers are looking for, especially in areas of sport and exercise.
With further training, you could go into a job related to sport such as a Fitness Coach or Leisure Centre Manager. Depending on your other qualifications, you could also progress onto a teacher training course.
