Through the processes of designing, making and evaluating within ‘real’ situations related to our cross curricular topics, for example, making clay pots in the style of the Ancient Greeks, children are challenged to solve practical problems, applying their increasing knowledge.

This approach highly motivates children and encourages them to work independently or collaboratively where appropriate, taking responsibility for their own actions.

Following the last inspection the school was presented with an award from the Advisors and Inspectors for Design and Technology in recognition of the high standards achieved by the children in this subject.
