There are three tools available to create Quizzes and Surveys. Only one is available under your own individual resources which is the simple survey tools. To use the other tools you need to go to a group where you have Editor or Owner access, for staff this will normally be your department group, and then scroll down the page until you can see the Control Panel on the right hand side (with the red top). Go to resources under Group Admin and you will see the full set of tools on your icon bar.
The tools are highlighted in the oval above. The left hand icon is the simple survey tool and is really superceded by the Enhanced Survey Tool which is the right hand icon. The one in the centre with the red A is the Quiz tool.
Quizzes can be auto marked and the results for each user saved in a marksheet, so they can be used as tests. Students can be given the option to do the quiz more than once which might be useful in a revision context.
Surveys can be done anonymously and the results for all responses collected and displayed graphically.
