A wiki library is a document library in which users can easily edit any page. The library grows organically by linking existing pages together or by creating links to new pages. If a user finds a link to an uncreated page, he or she can follow the link and create the page.
A wiki library provides a low-maintenance way to record knowledge. Information that is usually traded in e-mail messages, gleaned from hallway conversations, or written on paper can instead be recorded in a wiki library, in context with similar knowledge. Wiki libraries can also be used for brainstorming ideas, collaborating on designs, creating an instruction guide for example this one, gathering data, and building an encyclopedia of knowledge.
A Wiki on the Learning Platform can be used for any or all of these things. It could be used for collaborative writing or story telling, sharing thoughts, building up libraries of definitions or displaying work.
To create a Wiki go to resources and click on the Wiki icon  This will bring up the Create Wiki page with the usual requirement to enter a title and set the Access restrictions. There is also a possibility to make the Wiki Read Only, but this will restrict the use so for collaborative projects this should be left unticked. Click on Add Wiki at the bottom of the page to create the Wiki.
The first page of your Wiki will open so that you can enter some content in the WYSIWYG editor.
To create a link to a new page, type in some text for the link, highlight the text and click on the Wiki Hyperlink button as shown below:
This will bring up a box where you can enter the page to link to or select to create a new link. Selecting New Link will automatically create a new page with the title shown. Click Update to create the Link.
Don't forget to Click Update at the bottom of the Wiki page to save the content that you have edited.
