A message from the Principal
I am delighted to welcome you to the new Melior Community College Learning Environment. As many of you will know Melior Community College is a recently amalgamated school and due to the newness of our college this website is still under construction. It is however, worth a good browse!
It is a very exciting time to be a student at Melior, not least of all because we will have a brand new school built on the north site by September 2011. The new build is a state of the art design and will house £1 million worth of brand new ICT facilities. Friends who know Melior well, also know that we are currently bidding to have an International Business Centre, which amongst other things, will accommodate business incubator units and the Confucius Institute, should we also be successful in that bid. Our first ever set of GCSE results in August bear testament to the quality of education at Melior beating very challenging government stretch targets and ensuring that our youngsters do as well as those in the top 25% of schools nationally.
You may wish to explore some of the following areas on this site:
- The College Development Plan; this is a condensed version of our CDP and gives visitors to the site an overview of our development areas for the forthcoming year.
- Building schools for the Future; this site will be updated with the final plans for the College after Christmas.
- Newsletters; just in case your child didn’t bring home a newsletter, or the dog ate it, you can find the latest one on this page!
- College Calendar; this gives all the important dates for the month ahead for example: exams, Super Learning days, Parents Evenings, Performances etc.
- Melior PLP; this is a password controlled area of the site. All students at MCC have a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) which contains their E and A grades and their targets. Currently all PLP’s are paper based, however it is our aim to have them all accessible on this website by September 2009. Your child will have their own password for you to look at their PLP and more importantly for you to write your own comments about your child’s targets.
