The school is situated in the market town of Evesham, Worcestershire and is set in thirteen acres of grounds, providing extensive playing fields and opportunities for outside learning. Over recent years the school has benefitted from major refurbishments and enhancements. These include a multi purpose sports hall, a science laboratory, library, and ICT suite. A two storey extension with new Art and Design Technology areas is planned for 2012/13.
St.Egwin’s is a “good school that cares very much for the well being of its pupils” (Ofsted 2010). We endeavour to create and maintain a happy, caring and purposeful atmosphere. We promote the “work hard, play hard” philosophy. At St. Egwin’s pupils do well, exceeding the national targets for pupil progress. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities and we support the social development of young people with programmes such as Youth Challenge, Young Leaders and Learning to Lead School Council. Creativity is valued and we encourage pupils to become involved in music, drama, dance, sports and art. One of the highlights of our year is our drama production at the Evesham Arts Centre.
St.Egwin’s is at the heart of the Evesham community. We have strong links with our feeder schools and with Prince Henry’s High School to where most of our pupils transfer at the end of year 8. Pupils are encouraged to become involved with their local community taking part in a variety of projects. Our children are tomorrow’s citizens of the world; we foster links with schools in Europe and Tanzania. Do take a look at Mr. Taylor’s photos!
