Create Subgroups for Selected Profile Sets
Previous Topic  Next Topic

It is possible to create a subgroup, using profile sets. This allows you to simply add members to a profile set and the create the subgroup from that, rather than having to create a group and then add members or assign a profile set to it. For example, if you want to make a governors page on the cLc, you could add all of the governors to the governors profile set, and then make the governors profile set a subgroup.

To create a subgroup from a Profile set:

  1. Click on Profile Sets, under the User Manager section of the Control Panel
  2. Select the profile set(s) you want to use to create the subgroup, by placing a tick in the checkbox next to it/them. The profile set tree can be expanded or collapsed using the and icons.
  3. Click on the 'Create Sub Groups for Selected Profile Sets' Icon at the top
  4. Select the group category from the drop down box
  5. If you would any adults that belong to the selected profile set, to be made into owners of the newly created subgroup, the tick the box next to 'Add Adults to Group as Owners'.
  6. Select the Group you would like the new subgroups to appear under, by clicking on the group name.
  7. This will take you to the subgroups page. The group you have just created will be set as not-live . To change the security, select 'edit security' from the drop box next to the new group.
