The user directory is used to search for other users on the cLc or partnered cLcs in order to view their ePortfolio, to message and to email them. However, the user is only able to use these features if they have been enabled by the cLc Manager in User Directory Security

Basic search - this allows the user to seach by either a User's Name or a Username.

Advanced search -this allows the user to search by either a User's Name, a Username and/or the ability to narrow down the search results by selecting from available profile sets.

Basic search

1. Enter the name or username of the user you wish to search for.

2. Click the search button.

3. This will show the user(s)':

• Name
• Username
• User Type (e.g. Student/Adult)
• Year (if a student)
• ePortfolio (if enabled). If it is possible to view the ePortfolio, a house icon will be displayed. Click on the house to view the ePortfolio for that user.
• Message (if enabled). If it is possible to message the user, the message icon will be displayed. Click on the icon to be taken to the send message page. Here you can enter the message text, select whether you would like the recipient to be able to reply, and then click send.
• Email (if enabled). If it is possible to email the user, the email icon will be displayed. Click on the icon to be taken to the email page. Here you enter the subject and message and click send.

Advanced Search

The advanced search can be used to narrow down or expand the search field. The search options are defined by certain settings (controlled by the cLc Manager on the User Directory Security page)
